| I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and are still enjoying their holidays! Meanwhile I was in the office on Christmas Eve and back to work on the 27th! Being Christmas, the office was nicely decorated:
Above: 101 Collins Street Front and Foyer - Sensibly decorated. Unlike a few streets from our house: Christmas was spent at my cousin's house with a continuous BBQ for 6 hours with plenty of food and drink. I tried my cousin's "wii" and I think it's quite awesome! Initially I thought the Wii was a kids gaming console but now I'm considering buying one! Of course on Boxing day my shoulders were really sore because I played too much Wii Boxing.
No real other highlights to Christmas - just going to work and being bored and the Christmas Feast. When I mean bored, this is what I was up to:
Above: Balancing a can on the it's edge Above: And tying someone mouse with the helium baloons so that it floats in mid-air And some random facts: Weight before Christmas: 82kg Weight after Christmas: 85.3kg
| Definitely a long week for me - I was on the early shift this week from 7am - 4pm. On top of that I have two days of classes from 5:30pm - 9:30pm.
Had some Friday night drinks last night with a friend of mine from Hong Kong who came to Melbourne. Her brother took us to Seven (well, I drove them there). After a ridiculous wait for 20 odd minutes in the cold, we finally got in. Seemed like an alright place but it wasn't really a relaxed scene - perhaps it was just me in my work clothes (minus the tie).
Quite amazingly, I met a few of my high school friends - some which I haven't met since year 2000. One of my high school friends said to me "Hey what are you doing at an Asian night?" and I really had no idea what that meant considering my dad is from HK and mum from Malaysia - so I am quite asian even though I was born here. I seriously feel "tourist" here in my own home town! I guess thats what two years of working overseas does to you...
Had a few drinks then drove home. Earlier, my brother sent me a message warning me of the police booze bus when driving home, but I thought to myself, the police won't be there at 4am. Haha. Anyway, they were there, but they didn't stop me - I would have been well under as I only had four drinks over a six hour period.
Totally wasted half a Saturday sleeping it all off. Well it's time to do some study! Till next time.

| One month has passed since I got my job and it has been rather interesting. It is really interesting working here - very different to when I was working in Hong Kong. I'm currently adjusting myself and all is well for the time being - had a few hectic days but nothing too dramatic.
To those that know me, my posts arn't real posts unless they have photos in them. So here are my new toys:
Above: One of the packages. Above: My new computer. A great deal I might add - free 19" wide screen LCD, 2GB RAM and etc etc etc etc etc (I wont go through the full specifications as it is too nerdy).
Thanks to my brother for arranging the discounts via the employee purchasing programme (and my constant pestering to order it).

| Work has been busy learning new stuff, but it has generally been quite quiet as the markets have somewhat stabilised in Australia. It's September already, so it's officially the start of Spring. (Well, in the southern hemisphere it is) I guess it's a good time for photos too! Sun is out, nice and warm, with a cool breeze. Didn't take many shots but realised I stuffed them up because I had the camera in ISO1600 so they are really grainy... Anyway, here they are:
Above: Potential Christmas tree in our backyard Above: The bees are out Canon have released a new DSLR which I'm tempted to buy which would minimise the possibility of the aforementioned error. However, it is pretty expensive at $1800 and my current camera which is two years old is still functioning properly. Decisions... decisions!

| A month has passed since I left Hong Kong. Since then I have been enjoying a lazy life and casually looking for jobs and going for interviews. I have also started my Masters degree and I have to go to the University twice a week on a part-time basis. Last week, I was offered a job and started yesterday. From sneakers, jeans and t-shirt lifestyle to a corporate lifestyle in black shoes, suit and tie - quite a dramatic change - but it does feel good to have a job again.
Anyway, here is my first Melbourne photo with my two year old camera.
Above: A bit of Princes Bridge & Federation Square. My office is the building in the centre. Oh, by the way, it's my birthday today. I recieved a Bluetooth headset which was given to me from a friend in Hong Kong - OK, I admit I've been using it way before my birthday. Any late birthday presents are more than welcome.
